Users from several countries in Eastern Europe have reported a significant and continuous interruption of Google services, causing wide -scale disturbances and everyday life. YouTube, Google Maps or Gmail platforms are affected.

Google’s services suffered a until Thursday morning, problems being reported in several countries, including Romania. In addition to the Google search engine, the Gmail and YouTube service, the video platform owned by the company, is also affected.
Also, problems have been reported in Vodafone in Romania, after customers from several cities of the country today reported difficulties in using mobile data services. Among the reported problems are the lack of internet connection, unstable signal or temporary interruptions of data traffic.
The Turkish government was the first to comment on the situation on Thursday morning, the Deputy Minister of Telecommunications Fatih Sayan stating that Google services are unavailable in the country and that the cyber monitoring authority required for the company.
He also published a map of which he states to show the extent of problems in Turkey and other European countries.
The map shows that much of Southeast Europe, areas of Ukraine, Russia and Western Europe have been affected.
Sporadic feathers were reported in Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania, including problems in accessing sites, youtube and telephone contacts related to Gmail, some users have reported.
In Germany, the specialized site Allestoerungen.de – a division of the Ookla in the United States – has reported an increase in Google disturbances since Thursday, to 7.00 (10.00, Romania time).
Downdetector, the best known site that monitors real time the operation of several sites and online platforms, shows that in Romania users have started reporting Google search engine around 10:20.
The same situation is valid for other countries, although the extent of the problems and the number of affected countries is not yet clear.
Users who try to access google.com or google.ro, search engine pages, receive an error that tells them that “this site is inaccessible”.
The last time Google suffered a major breakdown was in August 2022, when Google Search, Maps, Drive and YouTube fell. Gmail has not been affected since then.
