The Minister of European Funds, Dragoș Pîslaru, presented the final list of hospitals that will be financed with financing from the National Plan for Redress and Resility (PNRR) and which can be completed until August 2026. Instead of the 24 initially promised, only eight units remained, of which three could be ready until the beginning of next year.

“The moment I came as a government we had 5 hospitals that the European Commission and Hope we could do them by 31 August 2026. Then, in the negotiations we had, together with the minister Alexandru Rogobete, asking for the restriction of the terms, we have another 3 hospitals ”, explained Minister for Digi24.
Thus, the eight hospitals that continue through PNRR are:
- Cluj Emergency Hospital;
- Craiova Hospital;
- Bistrița Emergency Hospital;
- “Agripa Ionescu” from Balotești;
- Sibiu Hospital;
- “Zerlendi” Hospital in Bucharest;
- The Heart Hospital of Târgu Mureș;
- “St. Andrew’s Apostle” Hospital in Constanța.
Other hospitals will be financed through the cohesion fund
The minister also stated that another 9 hospitals, who lost the financing from the PNRR because they failed to submit the works, will be able to be done through the cohesion fund, also from European funds.
“The most important news is that strategic projects will be taken from PNR on cohesion. I was at the beginning of last week in Brussels to talk to the executive vice -presidents. And now we have a green wave to go on strategic projects. There is health program on cohesion and we will take on 9 hospitals there“, Explained Pîslaru.
The list of nine hospitals is:
- Gerota Hospital in Bucharest;
- Oradea Hospital;
- Hospital from Pitești;
- Alba Iulia hospital;
- Vaslui hospital;
- Timișoara Oncology Hospital;
- Giurgiu Hospital;
- 2 military hospitals – in Brașov and Pitești.
How many hospitals will be ready by the end of the year
Regarding the deadlines, the minister stated: “About 3 of the 8 can be done until January. I would not want to create expectations, but I saw the graphs. Until spring 5 should be ready And then, until August 31, the next 3 – Zerlendi, Târgu Mureș and Constanța. To us, the energy to put your project on the list, to sign a contract, was much greater than to do. The hospitals were initially 32, then 24, 23, 19 … they were all kinds of figures, of lists. “
