Team Europe started in force, leading after the first day with 3-1. Casper Ruud opened the scoring for Europeans, defeating the American Reilly Opelka in two sets, 6-4, 7-6 (4), and the young Jakub Mensiik brought a second point with Alex Michelsen, who ended 6-1, 6-7 (3), 10-8.
The first success of Team World came through João Fonseca, who defeated the Italian Flavio Cobolli by 6-4, 6-3, reducing the difference.
The evening ended spectacularly with the double match in which Carlos Alcaraz and Jakub Mensiik formed a redoubtable team and won against the American pair Taylor Fritz and Alex Michelsen, 7-6 (7), 6-4, after one hour and 43 minutes of play.
Thus, Europe ended the first day at the advantage, and the second day is announced as spectacular, with matches with a bigger stake.

The second day at Laver Cup brings one of the most anticipated simple matches, between the world number 1, Carlos Alcaraz, and Taylor Fritz, the 5th in the ATP ranking and the best ranked player in Team World.
