The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, convened on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, a meeting with the leaders of the ruling coalition at the Cotroceni Palace, in the context of internal stresses and a possible political crisis.

The Presidential Administration announces on Tuesday morning that President Nicuşor Dan will meet, from 11.00 am, with the leaders of the ruling coalition.
The discussions take place before the meeting scheduled also on Tuesday, at 1:00 pm, between the leaders of the coalition parties, and only 24 hours before the Constitutional Court’s decision on the pensions of the magistrates.
The main topics of discussion include the extension of the ceiling of the commercial addition to the basic foods, the reform of the local administration, the package of reforms regarding the special pensions and the establishment of the common candidate at the City Hall.
Also, the decision of the Constitutional Court on the pensions of the magistrates could influence the stability of the Government, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stating that he cannot remain in office if the law is declared unconstitutional.
The tensions escalated into the coalition due to the reforms proposed by Bolojan, including the 10% reduction of the positions in the local administration.
We remind that the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, convened the meeting of the Supreme Council of Defense of the Country (CSAT), Thursday, September 25th.
On the agenda it is past the establishment of objectives that require protective measures against threats in the case of unanswered aircraft, PReas well as establishing persons who have the right to order or approve the execution of measures against aircraft and air vehicles that use the national airspace unauthorized.
