Daniel David, the Minister of Education, said on Wednesday, November 5, that Romania obtained the approval of the European Commission regarding the use of European funds for the payment of the teaching career bonus, the money would be used for this purpose from next year.

“As we announced publicly, we obtained the Commission’s approval to use European funds, something I want to do in the future and to supplement student scholarships, so that we will probably start paying the career premium from January 2026″announced the minister.
The teaching career premium is worth 1,500 lei and can be used for professional training courses, books, IT equipment, and approximately one third of the money can go towards covering individual teaching needs specific to teachers.
Regarding the educational cards, Minister Daniel David specified that the payments on them will start in November for those who have them and in December for those who do not have them.
