In a world where technology and artificial intelligence are evolving, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos warns that not all employees will be replaced by machines. He emphasized that the only professionals who will remain indispensable are those who can invent and generate new solutions.

At Italian Tech Week 2025, Bezos explained that the real difference between humans and AI systems is not in the amount of information they hold or in their processing speed, but in the ability to imagine what does not yet exist.
“Technological progress is only possible thanks to those who take the risk of innovation and do not limit themselves to the reproduction of already existing knowledge”he declared, according to El Confidencial.
The Amazon founder recounted a childhood experience on his grandfather’s farm in Texas that shaped his vision of hands-on creativity. Together, they repaired a bulldozer without outside help and even built a makeshift crane to remove the transmission. Bezos says that moment shaped him “the definition of practical creativity” and influenced their way of approaching obstacles.
Bezos considers himself “inventor by nature” and emphasizes that this mentality is the main criterion he looks for when recruiting.
Microsoft studies and experts cited by Sky News show that some professions may be partially or completely replaced by AI.
Among the most vulnerable are: interpreters and translators (98%), historians (91%), mathematicians (91%), proofreaders (91%), automatic programmers (90%), writers and authors (85%), journalists (81%), telephone operators (80%) or teachers in certain fields.
Bezos believes that the job market has entered a stage where inventiveness and adaptability will matter more than the classic resume. In his view, only those who can constantly create and innovate will remain relevant.
“The ability to create will continue to be the space where humans will not be replaced by artificial intelligence,” says Bezos.
Bottom line, says Bezos, the future belongs to employees who think freely, who experiment and who take risks to innovate.
