The former presidential advisor Ludovic Orban declared, on Tuesday, that his separation from the president came after a single discussion in a certain level of contradiction, regarding a statement he gave regarding the abusive use of the Romanian president’s image in the campaign for the Capital.

“Today I found out that I am no longer in the team of Mr. President Nicusor Dan. Our separation comes from the president’s decision”, Ludovic Orban said.

“The decision comes after a single statement I gave to a TV station, regarding the abusive use of the president’s image in the campaign for the elections for the Capital City Hall”.

I do not regret this statement”Orban also said, to whom it seems “a trifle” that statement.

“I didn’t ask to join President Nicusor Dan’s team, but it was his invitation to be part of his lordship’s team. I didn’t accept easily, I was careful and, in the end, I accepted in the hope that I can be useful to the functioning of the Presidential Administration”stated the former adviser.

“For a month and a half I did not have any adversarial discussion with the president. He did not reproach me with regard to my activity or the public statements that I had”, Ludovic Orban also specified.

“I have no debt towards the President of Romania, rather the President of Romania has a debt towards me”adds Orban.

“I did not publicly show any preference at the City Hall. I had no way not to criticize the decision of the four PSD judges from the CCR. I will continue the collaboration with Nicușor Dan, I feel obliged to the Romanians whom I urged to vote for him so that the mandate meets the expectations of those who voted for him. I will continue to advise him, to give him advice, as his lordship wishes, if not in face-to-face discussions – I will do it public”, the former presidential adviser also stated.

“A lot of people they might suspect me of dissing the president. I don’t mind, in a way I have to admit that I feel liberated. I’ve always spoken my mind at my own risk.” he also said. “I found out from sources, the discussion I had with the president did not seem decisive to me. I thought there would be another discussion that would be final, it wasn’t”he added.
