The announcement was made on Wednesday during a video conference attended by the head of the Kyiv Regional Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk and the Romanian ambassador to Kyiv, Victor Micula.

“An important news: in December we are completing the Bridge over the Tisza, a direct, necessary and symbolic link between our communities. A bridge that will unite people, not just banks. In the times we live in, collaboration is no longer just an administrative procedure. It is humanity, responsibility, the sincere desire to lend a shoulder where it is needed. Maramures remains close to the Kyiv region. Through people, through facts and through projects that really matter”. said Gabriel Zetea, according to Agerpres.

The President of the CJ also emphasized that following the discussions held with the head of the Kyiv Regional Administration in Ukraine, he understood the immense difficulties caused by the war.

“What did I feel? Strength, resistance and o huge desire to move forwardeven when the conditions are extremely harsh. The real situation in the Kiev region: 6 hours a day without electricity, and 6 hours without … thousands of displaced people, over 30,000 objects affected, of which 24,000 have already been rebuilt. An effort that says everything about the courage of the people there”Gabriel Zetea also stated.

The head of CJ Maramureş also mentioned that despite the difficult situation in Ukraine, joint Romanian-Ukrainian projects will continue.

“What we are doing together: we continue the steps for the Maramureş – Kyiv Cooperation Agreement, we activate the Alliance for the Reconstruction of Ukraine for urgent projects, we get involved in supporting the ‘Points of Invincibility’, vital in crises, and we put technical teams on the table for 3-5 common priority projects”said Gabriel Zetea.

Since the beginning of the 90s, the CJ Maramureş administration has cultivated good neighborly and cultural relations with the Ivano-Frankivsk Region, where an important community of ethnic Romanians lives, a relationship that is in continuous support.
