Asked during a discussion with the public on the ministry’s Facebook page about the effects of the measure on teachers, Daniel David explained: “As the Prime Minister also said, we will be careful that in the Education area the pension-salary combination does not affect teaching staff, because we know that, in many situations, retired teachers are the ones who help us cover our hours. They do not take the hours of other younger people, but we do not have enough human resources. We do not have enough people to cover these hours. So I do not see it as a problem.”

The minister was also asked if there are plans for a new increase in the didactic standard.

“There is no discussion of such a thing. The increase has been made. At this moment, as I said, we must stabilize, develop in the system. There is no longer a question of an increase in the didactic norm”, he replied.

In the same context, the president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, stated that in Tuesday’s meeting of the coalition leaders, no decision was made regarding the pension-salary cumulation project. “No one wants there to be exceptions to this rule”Grindeanu added, noting that he asked the Minister of Labor, Florin Manole, to eliminate all exceptions. He explained that the provisions related to the ban will either be assumed by the Government or promoted through a draft law sent to the Parliament.
