Victory labor in Rotterdam! Romania destroys Japan and qualifies for the next phase of the women’s handball WC

Romania achieved an important victory in the second match of the Women’s World Handball Championship, which ensures its access to the main round.

The Tricolors ticked off another success with a 31-27 victory over Japan, which temporarily propelled them to the top of Group A and guaranteed them an exit from the preliminary stage.

The start of the match was favorable for our team, who opened the scoring and quickly broke away to two lengths. However, the advantage quickly dissipated, and the Japanese restored the tie at 4, then managed to take the lead.

Although Japan never pulled within more than one goal, they managed the momentum well and kept the lead until the score was 9-10. At that point, Romania had a solid comeback and managed to enter the locker room with a two-goal advantage, 16-14.

The second half started more difficult for the tricolors, who were tied again and could not break away decisively for a long time. Only towards the end, five minutes before the final whistle, our team distanced itself to three goals, and finally closed the game at 31-27, in a duel where the defense did not always rise to the highest level, but the determination made the difference.
