Stefanie Pieper, a well-known smoke influencer from Austria, was found dead in a forest in Slovenia, almost a week after she disappeared.
The 31-year-old was last seen on November 23, returning home from a party. According to local media, she sent a WhatsApp message to a friend saying she had arrived home safely, but shortly afterwards told him she thought someone was in her stairwell.
Family members alerted the authorities when she did not show up for a scheduled photo session, writes the Daily Mail.
Police said they found Pieper’s body in a suitcase in a forest in Slovenia after her ex-boyfriend admitted to strangling her.
He was detained in Slovenia on Monday after authorities said he set his car on fire in a casino parking lot.
“He was found in the immediate vicinity of the burning vehicle and arrested by the Slovenian police. Extradition to Austria was requested”officials said.
