Gabriela Ruse qualified for the final of the ITF tournament in Trnava. Important rise in the WTA ranking

Gabriela Ruse qualified for the final of the ITF tournament in Trnava, after defeating the Belarusian Aliona Falei, 6-1, 6-0, after an hour and eight minutes of play.

In the final, Ruse will compete with the Czech athlete Lucie Havlickova.

The ITF tournament in Trnava (Slovakia) is endowed with prizes totaling 60,000 dollars, this being the one in which Ruse returned to the field after a one-month break, caused by an injury that did not allow him to play for the Romanian team in the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers, according to news.ro.

Gabriela Ruse re-enters the WTA top 100 and gains a confidence boost

Returning to the top 100 of the WTA ranking represents an important step for Gabriela Ruse, consolidating her position in elite women’s tennis.

In addition to the fact that Romania confirms its presence with at least three players in the world top 100 at the end of the year, this performance also has a major psychological significance for the Russians. Our athlete showed strength of character in the first match in Trnava, where she went through an extremely demanding match, lasting almost three hours, against Julie Pastikova, the 17-year-old WTA 522nd place holder.

The match ended 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-2 in favor of the Romanian, and the victory comes after the surprising failure suffered last week in Luxembourg, against Eva Bennemann (ranked 568).
