Vlad Gheorghe could withdraw from the race for the Capital City Hall. Who will he support in the race for the seat of general mayor

The independent candidate Vlad Gheorghe could announce on Tuesday, December 2, his withdrawal from the race for Bucharest City Hall in which he entered as an independent candidate, according to some G4Media sources.

The former MEP will announce his support for the PNL candidate, Ciprian Ciucu, according to the same sources.

We remind you that, on Friday, November 28, the independent candidate Vlad Gheorghe published a survey conducted by CIRA, according to which, the first figure in the intention to vote is Daniel Băluță – 24% (PSD), followed by Ciprian Ciucu – 21% (PNL) and Anca Alexandrescu – 19% (supported by AUR) and Cătălin Drula (USR) – 18%.

Another opinion poll, carried out by the AtlasIntel institute for HotNews and published on Sunday, December 1, shows that Daniel Băluță, the PSD candidate for the elections of December 7, 2025, and the independent candidate supported by the AUR, Anca Alexandrescu, are the first in the voting intentions of Bucharest residents, the data show

The new survey was conducted between November 27-30, on a sample of 2,964 respondents from Bucharest, using the random digital recruitment method and has a margin of error of two percentage points, at a confidence level of 95%.

The AtlasIntel survey credits the PSD mayor of Sector 4, Daniel Băluță, with 23.3%, and Anca Alexandrescu, with 23.2%.

The PNL mayor Ciprian Ciucu would have 21.7%, occupying the third place in this survey, while the USR candidate, Cătălin Drula would be in the 4th place, with 15.5%, followed by the SENS candidate, Ana Ciceală, with 8.4%.
