Diana Buzoianu categorically rejects options for a resignation. “I will not give in to pressure, I will not be intimidated”

The Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, said on Tuesday evening that she will not give in to the pressure and will not resign, despite the demands made by the Social Democratic Party.

“I am certainly one of the reasons why people are talking today in Parliament, I will not give in to pressure, I will not be intimidated”said Diana Buzoianu on Antena 3.

She also stated that she spoke every day with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, but regarding her resignation, she reiterated that she is not considering such an option.

“I talked with the prime minister every day about the situation in Paltinu. I will not resign, I will not give in to pressure and blackmail. I will continue the reforms. These days the Romsilva reform is being discussed. PSD has stated that it wants one director to remain. These are the substantive discussions. The discussion in Paltinu is an attempt to distract us from some decisions we are trying to make”she also said.

Earlier, on the same day, Diana Buzoianu reacted on Facebook, after the PSD president went to Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan with the request to dismiss the USR Minister of the Environment.

“Let’s face it. The resignation requested by the PSD comes right in the weeks when the reorganization of Romsilva must be negotiated in the coalition. I asked for a drastic cut in the number of directors – 12 regional directorates with one forestry director and one technical director each. PSD said: let’s see… sure… we accept 12 regional directorates, but let one head director remain at the county level – that is, let’s not change anything, just add some structures I will not sign such a Government Decision. I will not remain in this position for as long as I can to clean up the corruption of Romsilva. It does not matter how many places we can cover for the mafia in the last few years.”Diana Buzoianu wrote on her Facebook page.

Several PSD representatives asked the Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, to resign, following the drinking water crisis in Prahova and Dâmboviţa.

The request for her to leave the ministry was also made during Monday’s debate, from the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies, at Government Time, when PSD and AUR demanded the resignation of the USR minister.
