Florin Barbu, the PSD Minister of Agriculture, criticizes Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan for speaking very rarely with the members of his Cabinet and for not giving time for constant collaboration.
Invited to the show “Political Insider”, broadcast on Saturday on Prima TV, Florin Barbu spoke about his relationship with the head of the Government and how communication works within the Executive. Asked what relationship he has with Ilie Bolojan, the minister replied: “An institutional one, quite good.” The filmmaker noted the cautious wording: “I appreciate this “quite a lot”and Barbu added: “But know that there should be better communication”.
They are “very rarely” seen outside of government meetings
The discussion continued with a clarification: is the problem a personal one or a general one, between the prime minister and the ministers? The minister’s answer was sharp: “Between the prime minister and the ministers. The biggest mistake of the prime ministers in recent years was that they did not have a collaboration and did not take the time once a week, an hour, two hours, to talk with the ministers“.
Asked if this means that he hardly talks with Ilie Bolojan outside of government meetings, Florin Barbu confirmed: “Very rarely”.
Florin Barbu also worked at the Victoria Palace and in two other governments, alongside former PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu, and says that the lack of regular communication between the prime minister and ministers is a problem that has been recurring for years.
