American actor Steven Seagal has put up for sale his mansion located in Rublyovka, one of the most exclusive residential areas near Moscow, for the sum of 700 million rubles, equivalent to approximately 7.5 million dollars, notes Nexta.
The property has an area of approximately 500 square meters and is located in a gated residential complex comprising only 22 houses. The main residence has three bedrooms, an office, a private cinema, a wine cellar and a garage. There is also a guest house on the property, equipped with a Turkish bath, as well as a gazebo with a barbecue area.
Steven Seagal obtained Russian citizenship in 2016, and the property in Rublyovka was purchased in 2019 for an estimated sum of 80–100 million rubles, or about $1–1.3 million at the exchange rate at the time.
According to available information, the actor does not currently live in this residence, and the decision to put the property up for sale would be related to his moving to another country house.
Rublyovka is known as one of the most expensive and exclusive residential areas in Russia, favored by politicians, businessmen and celebrities.
Friendship with Putin
A close friend of President Vladimir Putin, Steven Seagal received Russian citizenship in 2016, and two years later was appointed special representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry to promote Russian culture in the United States. The actor has repeatedly expressed his support for Moscow’s policy, including after the invasion of Ukraine.
