The first images have appeared since the serious road accident in which Tal Berkovich, Israeli actress and model, lost her life, known to the public in Romania after participating in the “Chefi la cuțite” show, 2025 edition, where she obtained one of the golden knives. The tragedy occurred on Thursday, in southern Israel, on route 40, near Kibbutz Telalim, in the Negev region.

According to the Israeli authorities, the car driven by Tal Berkovich collided with a truck. Also in the car was her brother Gil, 40, who was taken to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva in critical condition. The truck driver suffered minor injuries, according to local media.

I saw a car that was completely destroyed, and inside was an almost unconscious woman with extremely severe trauma. During the extrication operations carried out by the firefighters, we carried out the necessary medical assessments, but unfortunately the injuries were not life-threatening and we could only pronounce death“, said an emergency service paramedic.

Tal Berkovich was in Israel to visit family and celebrate his mother’s birthday. Just a few hours before the accident, she had posted a message on social networks announcing that she had arrived home.

The intervention crews specified that the car was completely destroyed, and the resuscitation maneuvers had no result, Tal Berkovich being declared dead on the spot. He was 41 years old.

Born and raised in Kiryat Tivon, near Haifa, Tal Berkovich began as a dancer, collaborating with the Israel Ballet and the Bat-Dor Dance Company, before turning to modeling and acting. At the age of 20 he moved to Milan, where he worked internationally and appeared in prestigious publications such as GQ, Elle and Glamour. He later studied acting in London and acted in television and film productions in Israel, the United States and Great Britain.

She also became known through her appearances in entertainment shows, including the Israeli satirical show “Paparazzi” and the local version of the competition “Dancing with the Stars”. In recent years, he settled in Los Angeles, where he continued to be active in the entertainment industry.

In 2019, in an interview with Israeli media, Tal Berkovich stated that moving to the US changed his perspective on success and happiness, talking about the importance of spiritual development. In recent years, she had adopted a more religious lifestyle and married in 2020 her husband, Isaac, an ultra-Orthodox businessman from New York.

A few months before the tragedy, Tal Berkovich participated in the Romanian version of the culinary competition “Chefs with knives”. In later interviews, she emphasized that she refused to cook pork and insisted on kosher dietary rules during filming, stating that she wanted to remain authentic.

His death generated many messages of condolence in the press and in the art world in Israel. Actress Shira Vilensky wrote on social media that Tal Berkovich was “a man with an open heart,” adding: “I lost a sister, a soul mate, a strong light in my life”.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
