What is PRO TV replacing Cătălin Măruță’s show with on February 9, 2026

After 18 years in which the show moderated by Cătălin Măruță was a landmark of the afternoons at PRO TV, the station announces major changes in the schedule. From Monday, February 9, 2026, the public will see new productions, and the focus shifts to drama series and stories.

Cătălin Măruță’s show was removed from the PRO TV grid, and the time slot is occupied by two new productions. From 14:00, viewers will be able to watch “On the edge of the world”, and from 15:00 the Turkish series “Leyla” enters the program, broadcast exactly in the interval in which the presenter’s show was broadcast until now.

“Leyla” is an intense drama that brings to the fore a painful life story centered on the childhood of the main characters, Leyla and Civan. The series follows their beginnings marked by loss, abandonment and deprivation, outlining a harsh universe where the two children are forced to survive in extreme conditions.

In the first episodes, viewers will discover a strong setting with visual impact. Leyla and Civan live in a space that mimics a garbage dump, surrounded by debris and destroyed objects. Although the images look extremely realistic, the scenes were filmed on a specially designed set, where the production team carefully recreated the atmosphere of a poor, favela-like area.

The directors used lighting, color and set details to heighten the drama, and dirty costumes and understated make-up contributed to the authenticity of the images. Everything is thought out to convey the constant sense of danger and fragility that dominates the childhood of the characters.

Leyla is a little girl left without a father and rejected by her stepmother, while Civan, her biological son, lives without knowing his true identity. Despite the harsh conditions in which they grow up, a deep relationship develops between the two, based on protection, solidarity and mutual support.
