Students will no longer receive cultural vouchers of 250 lei until 2027, according to the Government’s decision

The government decided on Monday, February 2, to suspend the application of the provisions regarding the National Program “Cultural Vouchers for Students” until the beginning of the 2027-2028 school year.

The institution emphasizes that the decision was taken to limit budget expenditures, citing “the budgetary constraints facing the national education system”, according to the Government’s Emergency Ordinance, writes Edupedu.

Therefore, the Government decided, through an Emergency Ordinance, to postpone the application of some rules regarding the pre-university education system until the 2027-2028 school year.

This suspension takes effect immediately, from the date of publication in the Official Gazette, without respecting the standard waiting periods.

The cultural vouchers program stipulated that in the first year after its entry into force, these 250 lei vouchers are initially intended for 12th grade students to go to the theater, to concerts, to museums or even on trips or to purchase books.

Each student decides for himself how he will spend the 250 lei on the card.

In the second year, 9th grade students are added to the list of beneficiaries, and in the third year after the launch of the program, 5th grade students also receive such vouchers.
