Romania at the Davis Cup: the tricolors are tied with Paraguay, 1-1, after the first singles matches

The Romanian men’s tennis team is tied with Paraguay, score 1-1, after playing the first two singles matches of the duel in Asuncion, counting for the World Group I Davis Cup play-off.

Radu David Ţurcanu brought the first point for the tricolors, imposing himself in an intense and balanced match against Alex Santino Núñez Vera, score 6-1, 3-6, 7-6.

In the second match, Gabriel Gheţu was defeated by the main player of the hosts, Daniel Vallejo, score 6-1, 6-4, according to news.ro.

The matches take place on Saturday:

Daniel Vallejo/Martin Antonio Vergara del Puerto – Mircea-Alexandru Jecan/Bogdan Pavel;

Daniel Vallejo – Radu David Turcanu;

Alex Santino Núñez Vera – Gabriel Gheţu.
