Daniel Băluță, proposal in the municipal council. Hot water and heat to be paid for only if delivered at contract temperatures

The mayor of sector 4 wants to propose to the municipal council that the citizens of Bucharest pay for hot water only if it is delivered at the temperature stipulated in the contract.

The group of PSD general advisers submitted a draft decision and convened, for February 24, an extraordinary meeting of the CGMB. According to the draft decision promoted by the PSD group, the heating agent will not be paid unless it is at the temperature stipulated in the supply contract with the Municipal Thermal Energy Company.

If it is adopted, the decision of the CGMB will act retroactively, from January 1, 2026, announced the mayor of Sector 4 and the president of PSD Bucharest, Daniel Băluță.

“This is the decision of the General Council that I have submitted. It does nothing but amend a decision of the General Council from the year 2023, no. 13/13.01. And five new paragraphs are introduced in article two of the decision, as follows: Thermal energy will be supplied to the population at the agreed contractual parameters, according to the updated supply diagram, annexed to the contract. So, with this provision, the contract itself will be amended supply of thermal energy, clearly stipulating the temperature and not just the diagram. Clearly stipulating that hot water must be paid for only if it is at the correct contractual temperature. That’s how things happen in any society. Why am I saying this? Just as the Romanian state knows how to impose taxes on people, it must also offer services of appropriate quality“, said Daniel Băluță.

Also, the mayor of sector 4 proposes that Bucharest residents who these days will have high bills for heating/hot water these months, without having benefited from normal services, refuse to pay the bills.
