Who is the “Michael Jackson of India”, the artist who electrified the jury at “Romanians have talent”. “Your moment is my favorite of all 16 seasons”

A self-taught Indian dancer, nicknamed the “Michael Jackson of India”, gave one of the most spectacular moments in the history of the show “Romanians have talent”, bringing the hall to its feet and provoking enthusiastic reactions from the judges.

The February 13, 2026 edition of the competition show “Romanians have talent” from ProTv brought to the stage a moment considered by the jurors to be one of the most spectacular of all seasons. The protagonist was a young 23-year-old Indian dancer known as Baba Jackson, known in his country as the “Michael Jackson of India”, who impressed with a choreographic number of great difficulty, original and full of energy.

Inspired by the unmistakable style of the legendary Michael Jackson, the contestant built a moment that combined the techniques specific to his idol with elements of expression and rhythm from Indian culture. The result was an explosive show, received with standing ovations from the audience and extremely strong reactions from the jury.

The four jurors were visibly impressed by the performance, and the reactions came immediately, without reservations. Andra was one of the most enthusiastic voices.

“You blew our minds. I’ve never seen such beautiful dancing in my life. It’s my favorite dance. No one could dance like Michael Jackson, but you did something I never thought of in my life. In an authentic style, to approach the Michael Jackson style, it’s beyond my imagination. You’re a dream! Your moment is my favorite of the 16 seasons.” declared the artist.

Actress Carmen Tănase, for her part, remained speechless before the performance: “You killed us. Man, you’re amazing! I’m speechless. I’m speechless.”

And TV presenter and filmmaker Andi Moisescu appreciated the technical level and complexity of the moment, emphasizing the artistic value of the fusion between styles.

“He knows very well that he is one of the best dancers in the world. I saw an exceptional dancer, for whom dance has no secrets, he combined Indian culture with Michael Jackson’s dance and this amazing moment came out, unprecedented in the show. You are brilliant!”, Andi Moisescu also said.

Who is Baba Jackson?

The artist is known in India for his heavily Michael Jackson-influenced style and earned his reputation without any formal training or dance schools. He taught himself by watching clips on social media and video platforms, constantly practicing and building his technique through repetition and self-discipline.

For him, dance is not just a form of performance, but a vocation. He says he didn’t inherit the talent from anyone, because no one in his family is a dancer, and that everything he’s gotten to do is the result of hard work and passion alone.

Among his models are Michael Jackson, but also the famous Indian choreographer and actor Prabhu Deva, one of the artists who decisively influenced his style.

Although he did not have constant support from those around him, he continued on his own, motivating himself and accepting performances in front of audiences in India, where he formed a solid fan base.

A pivotal moment in his journey was meeting Prabhu Deva, who recognized and appreciated his talent, a validation he considers decisive for his artistic confidence.

Five years ago, he auditioned for a talent show in India, but was rejected. The experience did not make him give up, but on the contrary, it made him work harder and refine his style. Today she says she looks at dance with the same passion, but with more maturity and self-control.

Participating in the contest is not, in his view, about the trophy, but about experience and exposure. He believes that the simple presence on stage and the contact with the public are more valuable than the final prize and he states that he does not build his career around a rigid plan, considering that dance, like love, does not need a strict objective to exist.

Asked what he would do with the money if he won the contest, Baba Jackson confessed that he would buy a vintage motorcycle, another symbol of freedom that he also associates with dancing.

Beyond choreography, the artist is also involved in music: he composes and performs rap, also using this form of creation as a means of expression.
