Grindeanu announces that there are “great chances” that some local taxes will be reduced: “It’s about the exceptions eliminated”

The president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, said on Monday evening that there are “high chances” that a number of local taxes and fees will be reduced in the coming period. Among the measures considered are the reintroduction of facilities for old homes, but also the granting of deductions for people with disabilities.

Asked if there is an option to reduce the amount of local taxes and fees, the PSD leader stated that “there is a working variant supported by everyone”, which is to be presented in a few days.

Sorin Grindeanu explained that it is, first of all, about the correction of a previous decision by which the exceptions regarding the age of the homes were eliminated.

According to him, previously there were substantial discounts for the owners of old houses.

“There is a working version supported by everyone. In a few days it will be presented. We supported it. It is, first of all, about regulating those eliminations. Those exceptions were eliminated, for example on the age of the houses. There was an exception, if it was a 100-year-old house then you had a 50% discount. If it was 50 years old, you had 30% and so on. Those exceptions have been eliminated. From our point of view in view of the UDMR, because they proposed and we supported, these things must return and will be presented. So, there is a good chance that these local taxes will be reduced.”said the president of the PSD, on Romania Tv.

In the same intervention, Grindeanu stated that PSD and UDMR support a proposal according to which disabled people should benefit from a 50% deduction for their home.

“We have a proposal supported by us and the UDMR that the first house, a house, the house of residence should have a 50% deduction. The same with cars.” Grindeanu said.
