Friends of American actor Eric Dane have rallied to support his family following his untimely death at the age of 53 following a quick and aggressive battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). According to tmz.com, relatives have created a GoFundMe page dedicated to the actor’s two daughters, Billie and Georgia.
The fundraising page, launched on Friday, includes the message sent by the family on the day of the actor’s death, according to News.ro. The text points out that Eric Dane leaves behind a devoted wife, Rebecca, and two teenage girls, and the course of the disease was “much faster than anyone could have imagined“.
The organizers of the campaign say that any contribution, regardless of value, will help ensure the family’s stability during this extremely difficult time. The funds will be used to support the future of the actor’s two daughters.
Important donations from fellow guild members
Among those involved is Sam Levinson, the creator of the HBO series Euphoria, in which Eric Dane played one of his best-known roles in recent years. Levinson donated $27,000 to the GoFundMe campaign.
