Actor Martin Short’s daughter has died at 42. Katherine would have killed herself

Katherine Hartley Short, daughter of actor Martin Short, was found dead on February 24 in her home in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles. He was 42 years old.

“It is with deep sorrow that we confirm passing away of Katherine Hartley Short. The family is devastated by this loss and requests privacy during this time. Katherine was loved by all and will be remembered for the light and joy she brought to the world.”a rep for the Only Murders in the Building star relayed.

According to TMZ, Katherine was found dead around 6 p.m. A law enforcement source confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that she died in an apparent suicide, according to The Guardian.

Katherine was one of three children adopted by Martin Short and his ex-wife, Nancy Dolman. She chose to stay out of the limelight, although she occasionally attended events and walked the red carpet alongside her father.

She attended New York University, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sexuality and gender studies in 2006. In 2010, she graduated with a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern California.

Katherine worked in a licensed clinic providing community programs, peer support and psychotherapy. He has also collaborated with the organization Bring Change 2 Mind, which promotes mental health education and support among young people.

Katherine Hartley Short was the eldest of three children adopted by Martin Short and his wife, Nancy Dolman Short. The couple also adopted two sons, Oliver Patrick and Henry Hayter.

Dolman Short died in August 2010 after a battle with ovarian cancer, the same year Katherine completed her undergraduate studies at USC.

In a 2019 appearance on “Conan,” Martin Short spoke openly about his children’s career choices, noting that none of them wanted to go into show business.

“I pushed them. I wanted them to launch into show business”Short said at the time.

Martin Short is currently on a comedy tour with his long-time friend and Only Murders in the Building co-star Steve Martin.
