Radu Miruţă gives a reply to Sorin Grindeanu, on the topic of the People’s Advocate: “Not all special pensioners should be killed”/ “Since when does the PSD take care that the USR is not affected by various appointments?”

Radu Miruță responded Thursday evening to PSD president Sorin Grindeanu, after the social-democratic leader requested that USR change the proposal for the position of People’s Advocate and nominate a person without a special pension.

The tensions between the parties in the coalition came to the surface again, against the background of PSD’s refusal to support Roxana Rizoiu’s candidacy, citing her status as a “special pensioner”. The Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, reacted on Thursday evening to the comments of the PSD president, Sorin Grindeanu, who had requested that the USR withdraw the proposal for the position of People’s Advocate and nominate a person without a special pension.

During a show on B1 TV, Radu Miruță explained the reasons why USR maintained the proposal and declared that PSD’s attacks are politically motivated and do not reflect the professional competence of the candidate.

“We are very clear. We are against the idea of special retirement, but that does not mean that all people who are special pensioners should be killed. Let’s change the law.

USR has, today, a project that eliminates special pensions, that eliminates the accumulation of pension with salary. Why not vote? I’ll tell you why. Because the USR accuses him of two, three people who don’t have their problems, in order to protect their people.

If there were many people in this country like what we propose at the People’s Advocate, this country would be much better, in a much better position. And since when do you think PSD cares about the USR brand?

Since when does PSD take care that USR is not affected by various appointments? Never take this care. It takes care that good people begin to be checked by comparison with the appointments of others. He takes care of the fact that the People’s Advocate can appeal to the Constitutional Court some laws that are given with dedication.

We are in a coalition, we voted for PSD people who we would not have voted for in various positions, not because they are good”, said Radu Miruţă during the show.

“That’s what they’re afraid of”

The Minister of Defense emphasized that the USR respected the coalition agreements and voted for the PSD proposals not necessarily for their quality, but for maintaining the political balance and the functioning of the coalition.

“Today, what is constitutional and what is unconstitutional is political rather than legal. Such people are the ones who replace the broken shards held with their teeth there by various functions. That is what they are afraid of. We cannot play with white gloves. We cannot remove the mess without getting our hands dirty.” accused Radu Miruţă.

The reply of the USR Minister of Defense comes in the context of Sorin Grindeanu’s statements of the same day, who stated that the PSD does not support the nomination of Roxana Rizoiu and that he would be willing to vote for another proposal without a special pension or if she waives her right.
