PSD President Sorin Grindeanu launches a harsh attack on Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, whom he accuses of cutting taxes for multinationals and blocking measures to prevent the outsourcing of profits, while demanding “responsibility” in the case of support given to children with disabilities.
In a public post, the social-democratic leader claims that the head of government significantly reduced the taxation of large companies and canceled a measure that would have limited the transfer of profits outside the country.
“Mr. Bolojan cut the tax for multinationals in half. Mr. Bolojan single-handedly revoked the measure that stopped the outsourcing of profits to multinationals. Mr. Bolojan thus took billions of lei from the budget and left it to the rich“, wrote Sorin Grindeanu in a post on Facebook.
Disputes on support for children with disabilities
In the same message, the PSD leader criticizes the position of the prime minister regarding the aid given to children with disabilities. Grindeanu claims that, in the context of the reductions invoked by the Government, amounts between 80 and 199 lei are being discussed.
“And now he asks us to be “responsible” when we discuss whether a child with disabilities should receive from 80 lei to 199 lei from the state”he transmitted.
The PSD president states that he raised the issue during the coalition meeting and that the formation he leads does not agree with the proposed approach.
“We told the Coalition four times today that we don’t agree with that approach. I’ll say it again, just to be clear!”Grindeanu emphasized.
The prime minister denies the existence of tensions in the coalition
On the other hand, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan rejects the idea of misunderstandings within the governing coalition. Asked about a recent statement by the PSD that suggested a possible blockage regarding the granting of “one-off” aid, the Chief Executive stated that the discussions proceeded without conflicts.
“I can inform you that today, at the coalition meeting, we got along well. You can ask the other participants if there were conflicting discussions on these proposals”said Ilie Bolojan.
The statements of the two leaders highlight differences in position regarding budget priorities and fiscal policies, in the context of debates about social support and measures applied to the business environment.
