How you can enroll your child in another school district
Because the registrations for the preparatory class are coming up, the educational units will display the school constituencies, i.e. the zoned areas, on March 12.
If you opt for the district school, the child will be enrolled automatically, based on the validation of the enrollment request.
If you want to enroll the child in a school other than the one to which he is assigned, this can happen within the limits of the remaining free places and, if necessary, based on the general criteria and, subsequently, on the specific tie-breaking criteria established by each individual educational unit (for example, if that child has siblings already enrolled in the school).
According to the Ministry of Education, “The parent can request, by ticking the registration form, that the place at the district school be reserved in the event that the child is not enrolled in the educational unit for which the parent has made the option, due to a lack of free places”.
Practices such as the floating visa are not recommended, as they only lead to congestion of traffic and educational facilities. In some schools in Bucharest, in high demand, in previous years it was possible to learn in three shifts or in containers.
