Grindeanu asks Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan to send the Control Body to the MAE, after the scandal regarding the repatriation of Victor Ponta’s daughter

PSD President Sorin Grindeanu asks Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan to send the Control Body to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after the scandal broke out regarding the repatriation of Victor Ponta’s daughter. The head of the PSD announced that the party will call Oana Țoiu to explain in Parliament.

“The situation in which a child was put, no matter what it’s called, I’m a father and I don’t want any parent to sit quietly in fear. I’ve been in touch with Irina’s parents these days, I’ve avoided entering and I’ve asked that we not enter through an official position in this debate. This is about a child, no matter what it’s called.”explained the head of PSD regarding the case of Victor Ponta’s daughter.

Grindeanu asks Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan for urgent checks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“I think things must go in a different direction and I am waiting for answers from the prime minister, from Ilie Bolojan. He is the one who leads the government team and has all the necessary levers to clarify the situation and I would propose, as a matter of urgency, to send the prime minister’s control body to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to verify the information, see the real situation and present it urgently to the Romanians”. Grindeanu also said during a press conference.

The PSD would ask for explanations including in the Parliament:

“Also, in Parliament, I will ask my colleagues at the Foreign Policy Commission to call for hearings both Mrs. Minister Oana Țoiu and our consul in Dubai, Mr. Badea (PNL), so that there is this clarification in Parliament. But I would ask both levels, and in Parliament, but especially at the government level, for this clarification to come quickly. Because whatever it is, things must be clarified for Romanians in first row. She could be anyone’s girl.”

Scandal regarding the repatriation of Victor Ponta’s daughter. The accusations brought to the head of the MAE

We remind you that the former Prime Minister Victor Ponta accused the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, on Thursday, of taking his daughter off the plane returning from Dubai, through a direct political order. For her part, Daciana Sârbu, Ponta’s ex-wife, accused Oana Ţoiu of having intervened to prevent her daughter, Irina Ponta, from boarding the repatriation flight from the United Arab Emirates and announced that she would file a criminal complaint against the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Irina, the daughter of Victor Ponta and Daciana Sârbu, arrived in Romania on a business trip on Friday, March 6.
