Immediately after the Oscars 2026 awards ceremony, Hollywood stars will head to the traditional Governors Ball, where a gala dinner takes place that has become, over the years, one of the most spectacular culinary events in the entertainment industry.

This year’s menu will be designed, for the 32nd time, by the famous Austrian chef Wolfgang Puck, considered a real gastronomic figure in Los Angeles. The chef will prepare dishes for guests attending the reception after the 98th Academy Awards on the night of Sunday, March 15 through Monday, March 16.

Wolfgang Puck’s goal remains the same every year: to surprise the stars with refined yet comforting dishes.

“Comfort food is always a people’s favorite,” said the chef at the presentation of the menu, held on March 10 in Los Angeles.

Among the evening’s classic dishes will be chicken pot pie, smoked salmon pizza, Spago’s famous pizza, macaroni and cheese and mini Wagyu burgers. Over time, pizza has become one of the symbols of the Governors’ Ball. Puck said he once tried to take it off the menu because he got tired of making it, but the reaction from guests was immediate: everyone was asking where his famous pizza had gone.

In addition to the established dishes, the 2026 menu will also bring some novelties. The organizers will set up a special area where sushi chefs will prepare Japanese dishes on the spot, and an ice cream machine will serve fresh and spectacular desserts to the guests.

Behind this gala dinner is an impressive organization. Around 75 chefs and 45 pastry chefs will work in the kitchen, supported by 325 staff, including wait staff and managers, to prepare food for the hundreds of guests arriving straight from the ceremony.

The numbers show the magnitude of the event: during the evening, approximately 600 pizzas, 3,000 portions of artichoke agnolotti pasta and 2,000 chocolate Oscar statuettes, one of the most photographed desserts of the evening, will be prepared.

The banquet will be complemented by champagne, fine wines, sake and tequila-based cocktails, served late into the night. The Governors’ Ball is considered the true epilogue of the Oscars, the moment when the tensions of the competition disappear, the winners celebrate with statuettes in hand, and those who didn’t go home with trophies console themselves with a slice of pizza or a mini Wagyu burger.
