A crime of extreme violence took place in Vaslui county, where a 16-year-old teenager killed his 24-year-old friend, following a spontaneous conflict. With his clothes stained with blood, he went to a neighbor in the village and asked her to guess from cards whether he would be arrested or not.
The crime took place in Bunești-Averești commune, where the victim, recently returned from Germany, was at a barbecue organized in the yard of the suspect’s father. At one point, the teenager and the 24-year-old left together to a shop in the village to buy drink and food.
On the way, a spontaneous conflict would have erupted between the two, the causes of which are not yet fully known. According to investigators, the minor became violent and began hitting his friend with his fists and feet, especially in the head area. Even after the victim fell to the ground and could no longer defend himself, the assaults continued.
After committing the act, the teenager would have returned to the scene of the assault and set the victim’s clothes on fire, thus trying to erase the traces and fearing that she might survive and report him to the police.
After the murder, he went to fortune telling
The gesture that followed shocked even the investigators. With his clothes stained with blood, the teenager went in the middle of the night to the house of a neighbor known in the village for fortune-telling. He told the woman that he had killed a man and asked her to tell him if he was going to jail.
Initially, she thought the boy was under the influence of alcohol, but when she noticed the blood on his hands and clothes, she froze in fear, fearing that he could become the next victim. Although he refused to guess them, the teenager continued to insist, asking him to quickly predict what was going to happen next. The boy left the house when he heard the police and ambulance sirens, according to Vremeanoua.
The victim’s body was discovered by the suspect’s father, in whose yard the party had taken place. Noticing that the two did not return, he went in search of them and found the lifeless body, after which he immediately called 112.
The police immediately started the search and found the teenager at his mother’s home in Brădicești, Iași county, where he had tried to take refuge.
Prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Vaslui Court opened a criminal case for qualified murder, with aggravating circumstances. According to the prosecutor, the aggressor acted with extreme violence, continuing to hit the victim even after she was unconscious.
“Amidst a spontaneous conflict between the two, the defendant began to punch and kick the victim in the head area, and after knocking him to the ground, he continued to hit him while he was unconscious. Later, thinking that if he recovered, the victim could report him to the police, the defendant returned to the scene of the assault and set fire to the victim’s clothes, with the aim of erasing any traces of the previous aggression. At this moment, the criminal prosecutors from the prosecutor’s office at the Vaslui Court are investigating for qualified murder, with the aggravating factor of cruelty, the defendant was detained and will be presented to the judge at the Vaslui Court with a proposal for preventive arrest”. stated the first prosecutor Ingrid Botezatu, from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Vaslu Court
Neighbors: “It was to be expected”
The people of Bunești-Averești, but also of the neighboring village, Brădicești, are horrified by what happened, but many say that they are not surprised by the teenager’s gesture, according to the cited source.
“It was to be expected. He was breaking into people’s yards, stealing from the elderly, but the Police said he was a minor and there was nothing they could do to him. The parents are to blame, that’s the education they gave him. A dangerous element”say the villagers, who believe that prison is the most suitable place for the young man.
The boy’s mother, to whom he fled after committing the crime, admits that the teenager had behavioral problems from an early age, but claims that she was unable to control him.
For their part, other locals demand that the parents be held accountable: “How can you raise such a monster, how can you not educate him at all? How can you tolerate him doing nothing but mischief and now also murder? And the parents should be taken and handed over to the law”, say the people, still scarred by the tragedy.
The teenager was detained and will be presented before the judges with a proposal for preventive arrest.
