President Nicusor Dan discussed in Brussels, “the past few days”, with Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu, about the digitization of the Romanian state and the reform of state companies, stating that they agreed that this year is “crucial” for the completion of the ecosystem of electronic identity cards and digital wallets.
“The other day, in Brussels, I had a discussion with Oana Gheorghiu, Deputy Prime Minister, about the digitization of the Romanian state and the reform of state companies. We agreed that this year is crucial for the completion of the ecosystem of electronic identity cards and digital wallets”says Nicuşor Dan in a post on his social media page.
In the opinion of the president, Romanian citizens, “including those from the diaspora, have the right to modern, digitized public services andquality“.
“They must be able to identify themselves to be able to sign documents remotelyand the majority of public services should be simple and accessible, without the need to go to the counter“, adds Nicusor Dan.
The president also says that another topic discussed was the reform of state companies which is “indispensable” and “it can no longer be postponed“. “A strong state needs strong companies”concludes the president Nicuşor Dan.
