NIBIRU, the new entertainment project on the Romanian coast, announces in a special event dedicated to the press and the business environment, the official opening on July 16, 2026, the launch of the first experiences, festivals and the sale of tickets for the inaugural season.
Developed as a city of entertainment, NIBIRU will operate from this summer with events, concerts, shows and activations scheduled from Monday to Sunday. The confirmed international line-up for this summer includes Timbaland, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Hugel, Ozuna and Nicky Jam.
“NIBIRU is an entertainment concept that is coming to life and, in addition to the economic impact it will have, it aims to create a place where people are happier and more connected to a real vacation experience. We believe that this is what the Romanian coast lacks: real reasons for people to choose to spend their time here and a framework of unique experiences that will change their perception of the coast in our country. We are building a place that responds to the question «What can I do at the sea in the evening?», with experiences for several generations, at international standards and at an affordable price”, said Andrei Șelaru (Selly), NIBIRU co-founder.
Promenade with free access, with activeities for the whole family
NIBIRU will include a large-scale promenade that crosses the entire project and functions as the central space of the experience. Unlike the classic seaside promenades, this is not just a place for walking and relaxing, but an active area, with multiple functions and integrated entertainment.
The promenade will include over 2,000 trees and plants, a fully occupied food court, over 30 restaurants, cafes and bars, shops, dedicated areas for events, sports and relaxation. Here too, several experiences intended for families and children will be integrated. The Hype Play partners are developing a 5,000 sqm playground on the location, and the NIBIRU Amusement Park will also operate on the promenade, designed as an evening experience, with music, light and views of the sea and the main arena.
The area will also include the Museum of the Planets, a Solar System themed trail designed as a visual and educational experience for families, and the TaranTerra reptile exhibit. In addition, NIBIRU will also host a contemporary art space created in partnership with the Suprainfinit Gallery, which will bring exhibitions, workshops and guided tours to the project.
Daily shows on Center Stage and an experience suitable for all generations
The NIBIRU Center Stage will also be located on the promenade, a large stage where concerts, dance moments, acrobatics, circus elements, pyrotechnic shows and special productions made exclusively for this project will take place every evening.
The organizers announce that the shows will be developed together with director Răzvan Ioan Dincă and his team, known for productions such as The Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia or Shrekwhich marks a different approach to the classic seaside concert model: each artistic appearance is thought of as a complete show, created especially for the NIBIRU universe.
During the summer, Romanian artists such as INNA, Delia, Theo Rose, Carla’s Dreams, Antonia, Alex Velea, Alina Eremia, EMAA, Holy Molly, Mario, Rareș, The Motans and Irina Rimes will appear on this stage, in formulas and productions developed especially for the new entertainment destination.
The concept caters to a diverse audience, from youth and festival communities to families and tourists looking for organized and safe evening experiences.
One of the central decisions of the project is related to accessibility. The organizers announce that access to the promenade will be free, provided a minimum consumption of 25 lei. The model was designed to keep the experience accessible and at the same time operationally sustainable. Used in major entertainment destinations, the idea allows maintaining a high standard of experience without introducing a general admission ticket.
Free entry will be available within the capacity limit, and in periods of high demand access will be regulated through a reservation and ticketing system. The founders say that this decision reflects the original mission of the project: entertainment of very high standards, but at a price as affordable as possible for the general public.
NIBIRU Arena, stand-up comedy club, brewery, nightlife
Beyond the boardwalk, NIBIRU also includes a number of ticketed venues. Among them is the stand-up comedy area developed in partnership with The Fool, where artists such as Micutzu, Drăcea, Bordea or Frînculescu will have shows, but also Nuba Cafe, already known to the public from Beach, Please!.
The NIBIRU Brewery, developed together with URSUS Breweries, will also be present in the project, a location with approximately 1,000 seats, designed for live concerts, group meals, themed evenings and an extremely diverse musical offer, from Romanian pop and folk to Greek, fiddle or party music.
However, the central location of the project is the NIBIRU Arena, presented by the organizers as the main event venue and the most spectacular space in the whole ensemble. With two VIP platforms, hundreds of square meters of LED and a state-of-the-art sound, video and lighting system, the arena will host the big events and festivals of the summer.

“I am happy with the proposal of those from Nibiru to be, this summer, the link between the generations and to be the presenter of some memorable shows. I will present to the kids, at Nibiru, the Romanians who made history on Earth. It will be a great summer, with parents and children together. At Nibiru there will be no difference between parents and children, between juniors and seniors. It’s just that some have memories and others have projects” said Dan Negru, NIBIRU Ambassador and host of artistic events that will take place in this entertainment destination.
A project with economic, touristic and investment stakes for the southern coast
Beyond the artistic component, NIBIRU is built as a project with economic and tourist stakes, with potential for the Costinești area.
According to the organizers, the project estimates an annual impact of over 300 million euros in the local economy, in a model that aims to expand the consumption and circulation of tourists throughout the season, not just around specific events. Approximately 80% of the suppliers are Romanian companies, and among the official partners of the project we find Banca Transilvania, Lidl, Ursus, eMag, GLO – Hilo, Pernod Ricard Romania, Redbull, Jagermaister and Essence. In the same ecosystem, the “Beach, Please!” festival, hosted for the first time by NIBIRU, is estimated to have an impact of approximately 100 million euros, contributing to the increase of the total volume of consumption generated on the seaside.
NIBIRU was also thought from a sustainability perspective, through the use of modular structures, rainwater reuse systems and through the objective of obtaining BREEAM certification, which would make NIBIRU the first entertainment project in Romania that follows this standard. Safety, access control, cleanliness and operational organization will be some of the central components of the experience at the new seaside entertainment centre.
“It is an investment made entirely from private capital, without government funding and without European funds. It is a bet on the potential of the Romanian coast and on Romania’s ability to build an internationally competitive entertainment and tourism product”Selly also said.
Through this project, the founders of NIBIRU propose a new model for the Romanian coast: an entertainment ecosystem built on a large scale, where the experience, the evening program, safety and accessibility become the main reasons why people choose to come to the sea. The objective is a paradigm shift, from a seaside focused almost exclusively on accommodation, to one where the content, infrastructure and complete experience define the attractiveness of a destination, both for the local public and for international tourists. The launch of NIBIRU comes in a context where Romania loses billions of euros annually from foreign tourism, and the Romanian coast faces a lack of integrated entertainment experiences. Through this project, the founders aim to contribute to the reversal of this trend and to reposition the Romanian coast as a competitive destination at the regional level.
