A driver was fined 5,062 lei by the traffic police from Covasna county, after he was spotted on DN 11 driving at speed, under the influence of alcohol and carrying two minors in the trunk of the car.
According to Police representatives, the incident was discovered during an action to prevent road accidents carried out on the DN 11 national road, according to the publication Observatorul de Covasna.
“A driver was penalized for several violations. He was detected driving over the legal speed limit and violating the rules regarding overtaking. The alcohol test indicated an alcohol blood level of 0.32 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air. At the same time, the police found that he was transporting two minors without approved seat belts or restraint systems, they were in the trunk of the car”stated the Police representatives.
The driver’s license was suspended for 150 days.
The Covasna County Police Inspectorate (IPJ Covasna) reported that, in the first three months of the year, 426 drivers considered “potentially dangerous” were removed from traffic by withholding their license.
In the same period, the police carried out over 600 road control actions, during which over 5,100 contraventional sanctions were applied. Almost 2,000 of these concerned exceeding the legal speed limit.
The authorities emphasize that such actions will continue, with the main objective of reducing the risk of road accidents on the roads in the county.
