A beach on an island in Mexico has topped TripAdvisor’s list of the world’s most impressive destinations, but it has one downside, according to tourists who have visited.
Express writes that Isla Pasión it is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea and lies between the US and South America. It is located north of Cozumel, Mexico. The beach is prized for its crystal clear turquoise waters and fine, golden sand.
However, tourists say that there are many sandflies and mosquitoes on the island, “particularly active“, and advises those who want to visit to carry repellent, as the bites have affected their experience. However, thousands of visitors say they thoroughly enjoyed their holiday.
They also stated that it is not an open public beach. Visitors must purchase a day pass or book an organized tour to reach the island.
Vibrant coral reefs can be explored by snorkeling in this popular destination, described as “a great island, not crowded at all.” One user described the experience on TripAdvisor as “an oasis,” accessible only by boat.
“To me, as to most people who see it, it’s a picture-postcard landscape. Isla Pasión is on an isolated island in the Caribbean and can only be accessed by boat tours, usually departing from Cozumel,” he confessed.
Viator, which offers tours to Isla Pasión, recommends using sunscreen, especially if you’re going on an open boat.
The best time to visit Isla Pasión is the sunny and dry season, from January to April. Isla Pasión is also considered an ideal destination for families, offering numerous activities for children and young people.
