As for AUR, Tomac declared on Monday, on Antena 3 CNN, that he categorically excludes any discussion with the party.
“I have no reason to discuss with parties that vote against the national interest”he said, adding that, although he respects the electoral options of the citizens, he cannot accept parties that he considers responsible for political blockages.
The prime minister-designate directly criticized the behavior of the AUR, claiming that the formation had repeatedly taken positions contrary to the public interest.
“I have no reason to discuss with parties that vote against the national interest. I respect the opinion and vote of every citizen, everyone is free to vote as they feel, but I will never accept and will not understand parties that, through concrete gestures, act against the national interest. AUR has behaved like this several times”. said Eugen Tomac.
On Monday, Tomac discussed with representatives of PNL, PSD and USR.
Also in the same show, he presented some of the proposals for the future Cabinet, announcing that Sorin Costreie is the nomination for the Education portfolio, while the current Romanian ambassador to NATO, Dănuț Nicolaescu, would take over the Ministry of Defense.
For the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tomac proposes Luca Niculescu, and for the Economy and Health portfolios, he claims that several options are under analysis.
He announced that he intends to finalize the Government’s formula by Wednesday at the latest and that he wants two to three versions for each ministry.
The goal is the formation of a technical government, made up of professionals without political affiliation, including at the level of ministers, secretaries of state and prefects.
