Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2026 is already 82% sold out

There are festivals that take a place on the map for a few days. And there are festivals that turn that place into a destination. After 12 editions and a patiently built community, Rockstadt Extreme Fest has reached this point.

In the summer of 2026, the new home of the festival is Ghimbav, which will become one of the most dynamic places in Romania. Located a few minutes from Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport and at the gate of Transylvania, Ghimbav will not only be the place where the festival takes place, but the meeting point of one of the strongest musical communities in Europe.

With over 100 bands on three stages, in a lineup that includes The Prodigy, Sabaton, Marilyn Manson, Helloween, Lamb of God, Godsmack, In Flames and Arch Enemy, the 2026 edition promises to be the biggest in the festival’s history.

More than just a festival, Rockstadt has become an attraction for the entire region. Thousands of participants from all over the world come to Transylvania every year for the music, but they also discover here Brașov, the Saxon heritage, the local culture and the mountain landscapes that define the area. In this way, Ghimbav and Brașov are increasingly entering the European map of major festival destinations. And the numbers speak for themselves: less than two months before the start, Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2026 is already 82% sold out.

Between July 27 and 31, all roads in the rock and metal community lead to Ghimbav. Tickets still available are available at rockstadtextremefest.ro.

More than a festival. A holiday in Transylvania.

The 2026 edition also means thousands of international tourists discovering Brașov, Ghimbavul and Transylvania. Beyond music, Rockstadt contributes to the promotion of the region and generates direct benefits for the local economy, from hotels and restaurants to museums and tour operators.

Brașov, the secondary stage of the festival

In 2026, Rockstadt brings the cultural heritage of Brașov to the festival experience, through guided tours and access to important cultural objectives and institutions of the city. The initiative reflects the direction in which the festival continues to develop: beyond music, towards a complete cultural experience.

Every day of the festival, guided tours dedicated to the participants start from Piața Sfatului. In Romanian and English, they provide an introduction to the history of one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Central and Eastern Europe.

The route includes landmarks such as the Black Church, Porta Ecaterinei and Strada Sforii, but also access to seven important cultural institutions of the city: the Council House and the County Museum of History, the House of Mures, the Museum of Urban Civilization, the Brașov Ethnography Museum, the Brașov Art Museum, the Olimpia Museum, the Ștefan Baciu House.

It’s a rare initiative in the realm of high-profile festivals, and one that speaks volumes for the direction in which Rockstadt continues to develop: not just as a musical event, but as a complete cultural experience.
