The decision of Minister Dragoş Pîslaru to continue his political activity within the Liberal National Party is a personal one and must be respected, REPER representatives announce in a press release.
“At a time when the reformist forces in Romania are subject to unprecedented pressures, censure motions with no alternative, maneuvers aimed at fracturing parties from within and coordinated attacks on those who refuse to give in to the clientelistic system, the REPER Party reaffirms its commitment to the values that were its basis: integrity, professionalism, respect for the rule of law, human rights and Romania’s European path. Dragoş Pîslaru was among the founders of this project political and had an important leadership role in all stages of the formation and development of the party. His co-optation in the position of Minister of Investments and European Projects was appreciated due to his professional experience and ability to manage public institutions efficiently. The results obtained at the Ministry of Investments and European Projects confirmed this capacity by recovering some European funds that Romania was at risk of losing. According to him, REPER was never about one person, but was built around a community united by values, competence and public responsibility.

However, the party’s mission remains unchanged: the renewal of Romania’s European Project, through functional institutions, quality public services and policies that put people’s well-being at the center of every decision, adds the quoted source.
Camelia Sălcudean, the president of REPER, emphasized that this party was not built around positions or power structures, but around principles that the party defends regardless of the context. “In a political system that needs significant repairs, our values remain a benchmark of coherence and responsibility, no matter where they end up being put into practice. We continue our path without hesitation, constantly investing in people, expertise and serious public policies, because Romania needs an authentic democratic alternative,” said Sălcudeanu.

In May 2022, Dragoş Pîslaru left USR to become a founding member of the REPER party. He held the position of co-president of the formation, alongside Ramona Strugariu.
Dragoș Pîslaru submitted his application for registration in the PNL Sector 6 organization on Saturday and at the Extraordinary Congress on Sunday he will run for the position of vice president.
