Eighth grade graduates who belong to national minorities will take the written exam on Friday, June 26, in Mother Language and Literature, the last of the National Assessment 2026. The first two exams took place on Monday, in Romanian Language and Literature, and on Wednesday, in Mathematics. The exam started at 09:00 and lasts for two hours.
Candidates were allowed to enter the exam centers between 08:00 and 08:30, and students had to carry a valid ID and writing instruments with ink or blue paste. It is allowed to use a black pencil for making drawings and schemes.
The exam started at 09:00 at which time students receive the subject booklet and, if required, stamped paper for drafts and extra pages.
According to the Ministry of Education and Research, the working time is 120 minutes, calculated after completing the identification box.
“For each written test, the duration of solving the subjects is 120 minutes (…). The students for whom this request was approved (…) benefit from the extension of the working time, by a maximum of two hours (…) based on the provisions of the procedure regarding the provision of equal opportunities for students with visual impairments, hearing impairments and neurodevelopmental disorders who take the national exams in 2026”, the Ministry sent.
What is prohibited in the examination hall
Candidates were not allowed to bring textbooks, dictionaries, notes, notebooks, mobile phones or other electronic computing, storage or communication devices into the exam rooms.
Also, satchels, rucksacks, purses and other personal items were left in specially arranged spaces. Students who refuse this will not be able to take the exam. All samples are audio-video monitored.
When the results are displayed
The first results of the National Assessment will be published on July 1, 2026, by 12:00, both in exam centers and online, based on individual anonymized codes that replace the candidates’ first and last names.
On the same day, between 14:00 and 18:00, as well as on July 2 and 3, students will be able to view the works and submit appeals.
The Ministry of Education states that viewing the papers is not mandatory for filing an appeal, nor does it oblige the student to dispute the grade obtained. When viewing, the candidate must be accompanied by a parent or legal representative.
Students who submit appeals must complete and sign a standard statement confirming that they are aware that the final grade can be changed both up and down. The document is also signed by parents or legal representatives.
The subjects and scale, published on the same day
The topics and correction scales for each test are published on the day of the exam, at 15:00, on the dedicated website of the Ministry of Education.
The final results, after resolving the appeals, will be displayed on July 8, 2026.
The high school admission average is represented by the overall average obtained at the National Assessment, calculated as the arithmetic average of the grades from the exam tests, with two decimal places, without rounding.
