Drivers who buy the toll from a portal in Hungary risk paying up to 90 euros more than the official rate. The National Road Infrastructure Administration Company (CNAIR) warns that the site is not authorized to collect road tax and charges significant additional costs, including for categories of vehicles that are not provided for in Romanian legislation.
The National Road Infrastructure Administration Company has announced that it has identified in the online environment the evignet24.eu portal, managed by the company Enternova Kft. from Hungary, which sells road signs for Romania without being authorized by CNAIR to collect the tariff for the use of the network of national roads, express roads and highways.
According to the company, users who purchase rovinieta through this portal pay, in addition to the usage rate established by Government Ordinance no. 15/2002, and substantial additional costs.
In the case of cars, the 12-month sticker is sold for 76 euros, 26 euros above the legal rate of 50 euros, which represents a 52% increase.
For vehicles intended for the transport of goods with a maximum authorized mass of no more than 3.5 tons, the price reaches 144.5 euros, 30.5 euros more than the official tariff of 114 euros, i.e. an increase of 26.75%.
The biggest price difference is in the case of minibuses intended for transporting people with no more than 8+1 seats and motorhomes or caravans. For these categories, the portal requests 143 euros, 93 euros above the legal rate of 50 euros, which means a 186% higher cost.
The site also charges 79 euros for caravans and trailers with a maximum authorized mass of no more than 1.5 tons, although Romanian legislation does not provide for a separate toll fee for these categories of vehicles.

CNAIR representatives draw attention that, according to OG no. 15/2002, minibuses intended for the transport of people with no more than 8+1 seats are included in the category of passenger cars and do not benefit from a separate tariff. The same applies to motorhomes, caravans and trailers, regardless of the maximum authorized mass.
The company points out that the portal in Hungary collects tariffs including for vehicle categories that are not provided for in national legislation, which may mislead users.
CNAIR does not assume responsibility for purchases from unauthorized portals
CNAIR warns that it does not assume any responsibility for the purchase of scraps through unauthorized platforms and recommends that drivers use official channels only.
“In relation to the situation presented, we inform users that CNAIR does not assume any responsibility regarding the access and purchase by users of scraps from portals not authorized by CNAIR. We ask users to pay the rovinieta only on the official portal of CNAIR, available at www.erovinieta.ro or at authorized distributors, whose distribution points and authorized web portals can be found on the official website of CNAIR”. it says in the company’s press release.
CNAIR advises drivers to always check if the platform from which they intend to buy the scrap is on the list of authorized distributors, to avoid paying unjustified additional fees and possible problems related to the validity of the document.
