After nine championships with the English team FC Liverpool, the Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah became a player for the Turkish football team Trabzonspor.
Aged 34, the North African signed “a two-year contract”, announced Trabzonspor, which will play matches in the Europa League Play-Off at the end of August.
Upon arriving in Turkey, Salah said: “Everywhere I go, I win or try to win something. I hope we can achieve great things in the championship and in European competitions.”
The second highest paid footballer in the Premier League last season, Salah will receive a salary of 17 million euros per year, excluding performance bonuses. Which is a record for the Turkish championship.
The Egyptian footballer will also receive 20% of the proceeds from the sale of shirts and products derived from his name, the Super Lig club announced.

Captain of the Egypt team, Mohamed Salah was welcomed as a hero by thousands of fans of the football team in Trabzon (north-east Turkey). He is going to participate in a contract signing ceremony, in the presence of supporters, at Trabzonspor’s stadium.
Former player for teams in Egypt, Switzerland, Italy and England, Mohamed Salah will perform in the fifth championship. He scored 257 goals in 442 games for Liverpool, with whom he won two Premier League titles and one Champions League.
Champion of Turkey for the last time in 2022, Trabzonspor is fighting for supremacy with the big three teams of Turkish football, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Beşiktaş.
