Protest of the rapidist gallery, at the match with Farul. The release of those arrested was demanded

The gallery of the Rapid Bucharest team is protesting at the match with Farul Constanța, from the first stage of the Superligi play-off, which takes place on Friday evening, at the Giulesti stadium, against the decision to arrest its leader, Liviu Ungureanu, known as “Bocciu”, in a file regarding the illegal use of pyrotechnic materials in stadiums during football matches.

The Giulești gallery refused to sing as usual, only chanting “Freedom for supporters” and the name of “Bocciu”. Fast-paced fans on the lawn displayed banners at the start of the match with the messages “Free bocce!” and “Freedom for supporters“. Also, the Giulești gallery did not sing the Rapid's anthem as it used to. At the same time, the rapidist gallery did not show up at the match with Farul with flags or banners.

At the beginning of the game, the players of the team coached by Cristiano Bergodi entered the field with a banner inscribed with the message “Free bocce!”

The supporters from the second stand and the first stand took over the role of the gallery and chanted instead of the gallery. Approximately 10,000 spectators attend the game Rapid – Farul Constanţa, from the first stage of the Superliga play-off, of which approximately 400 are fans of the guests.

The gallery of the Farul Constanţa team at one point showed solidarity with the rapidist team and chanted together “Freedom for supporters“.

The president of the Rapid club, Daniel Niculae, a member of the Executive Committee of the Romanian Football Federation, is being investigated at liberty in a file regarding the illegal use of pyrotechnic materials in stadiums during football matches. In this case, the leader of the Rapid gallery, Liviu Ungurean, said “Boor“, he was pre-arrested for 30 days, along with two other ultras.

The decision was taken on Friday by the Bucharest Court, at the proposal of the prosecutors of the Capital Prosecutor's Office, after lethal weapons were found in the residence of members of the Rapid gallery involved in this case. Another 12 ultras, detained on Thursday, were placed under judicial control for 60 days, being investigated for committing the crimes of constituting an organized criminal group, operations with pyrotechnic articles carried out without the right, non-compliance with the weapons and ammunition regime and destruction.
