Russian officials claim that it was an attempt to prevent the voting of Russian citizens in Bucharest, on the last day of the presidential elections in Russia.

“A suspicious stray object (bag) was discovered in front of the Russian Embassy building in Bucharest. The arriving representatives of the Romanian law enforcement agencies carried out the necessary operational actions. No dangerous objects were found during the inspection. The intervention services determined, following the checks, that the said parcel, on which there were initially suspicions, does not present any danger.

“We assure all our ill-wishers that such provocations are knowingly doomed to failure“, the Russian Embassy in Romania sent.

The diplomatic representation states that all necessary security measures were taken for the organization and conduct of the vote, as well as to ensure Russian citizens exercise their right to vote.

We remind you that both Russian and Romanian legislation provide for criminal liability for obstructing the exercise of electoral rights or the work of electoral commissions, not to mention the other articles in the criminal codes of both countries applicable to this situation”. sent the diplomatic representation, in a message posted on Facebook.
