However, many of the graduates also opt for jobs abroad, employers say. Universities annually produce conveyor belt specialists, and they are highly sought after and appreciated internationally.

Romanian IT professionals, in high demand in Europe

According to representatives of IT companies, many young people from Romania choose to go to other important countries in Europe, in order to find the long-dreamed-of job.

Many times, young graduates are sought by employers, without them applying for a specific position.

Even though it is a fairly well-paid field in Romania, we are facing this problem. Young employees, who have experience and are very well trained, receive offers from companies abroad. Many of them choose to accept these offers and give up their jobs in the country. We can say that it is a disadvantage for us and this must give us food for thought because we have to find ways to keep them in the country”, stated the representatives of a large IT company from Iași.

Why are foreigners attracted to Romanian IT professionals?

According to the specialists, there are also several explanations for the fact that many companies from abroad are turning their attention to the workforce in Romania.

They argue that young graduates are cheaper, but very well-trained labor.

Our level is very high, at least in IT. Young people come out of college very well prepared, much better trained than graduates from other countries. With us, even from high school, students acquire very advanced notions. So it is no wonder that they are in high demand and that foreigners end up contacting them. At the same time, being in Eastern Europe, labor is cheaper, at least for the first hire. Even so, they manage to get higher salaries than in Romania, for similar positions. We have many former employees who, at the moment, hold management positions in large companies abroad, from countries such as the Netherlands, Germany or England“, added company representatives.
