Edward Iordănescu, bad news is flowing before Euro 2024: Pușcaș and Chiricheș, terrible situations

As if the plight of players short on minutes at their club teams abroad wasn't enough of a headache for the coach, now after the weekend leg, he faces new problems. Because he risks losing two players who were in his sights for a call-up to Euro 2024 (June 14 – July 14, Germany).

We are talking about Vlad Chiricheș (34 years old) and George Pușcaș (28 years old). The former was injured in the first half of the match FCSB – Rapid (2-2), while the striker “BROKEN” in Bari – Pisa (1-1), in the game in which he scored the home team's goal from the penalty (60).

Today, Gigi Becali made the announcement about Chiricheș: “Four weeks (no period during which he will be absent). That's it. I feel sorry for him. He trained very well, there was already a solution“. The former captain of the national team was diagnosed with a shoulder problem after a duel with Albion Rrahmani.

As for Pușcaș, according to the sport.ro website, he also injured his hand and needs surgery. And in the case of the striker, the period of absence will reach over a month.

So, both Chiricheș and Pușcaș have little chance of going to Euro 2024. The loss is greater in the case of Pușcaș, because, if we refer to the FCSB stopper, he was, anyway, a reserve option for the European Championship, considering given that it did not contribute to the qualification obtained last year.
