“The actor was infected with Staphylococcus aureus before hospitalization”
Meanwhile, new information is emerging as to why the beloved actor ended up in the hospital.
The Cluj Military Hospital stated, the other day, that the actor was infected with staphylococcus aureus, before hospitalization. The representatives of the medical institution decided to give a response after information appeared that the actor had contracted an infection in the hospital.
“Patient Florin Piersic presented himself on April 17, 2024 with an altered general condition in the context of septicemia. The symptoms started three days before presentation to the hospital, according to family members.
The patient was quickly evaluated in the emergency department of the hospital, where the existence of an inflammatory process at the level of the prosthetic knee was found and the laboratory analyzes confirmed the existence of a septic process”claim the representatives of the Hospital.
They stated that this information is made public with the consent of the actor and his family.
The hospital's representatives claim that since the presentation, blood cultures and urine cultures have been collected, which tested positive for staphylococcus aureus:
“The same germ was also highlighted at the level of the joint prosthesis. Antibiotic treatment was initiated, and after clinical stabilization and preparation for the surgical intervention, the orthopedic procedure was performed to clear the septic process at the level of the prosthesis implanted in another service 5 years ago.”
The doctors suspected that there were problems with the heart as well.
“Ever since admission, there was the suspicion of identifying a septic process at the level of the heart valves, a fact confirmed by echocardiography, which revealed bacterial seeding also at the pacemaker implanted approximately 10 years ago at the Heart Institute in Cluj-Napoca“, it is shown in their specification.
Later, a specialist consultation was requested at the Heart Institute in Cluj-Napoca and according to the recommendations of the multidisciplinary committee that evaluated the patient, it was decided to transfer him for specialist treatment in the respective service on April 30.
“Then, the doctors from the Heart Institute in Cluj-Napoca, in agreement with the family, decided to transfer the patient to Bucharest“, concluded the representatives of the hospital.
