A PSD MEP states that Georgescu won the May elections. “It is a stain on the image of Romania in the world”

Calin Georgescu would have won the presidential election last year, as would the poll of May have won, if he had passed the filter of the Constitutional Court (CCR), says the sociologist Vasile Dîncu, PSD MEP.

Vasile Dîncu stated, on Prima TV, that the solution to defeat Călin Georgescu was a great vote.

He should have applied and lose the elections, maybe it was better. I don’t think he was losing this situation, neither in November nor now. In my opinion, he would have won. It would have been good to give this fight. The solution was the presence at the vote. In the Germans, for example, it was the case of AFD (far -right party – no). AFD had polls, on the population that voted, around 30-35%. I told me some parliamentarians I met in the European Parliament that «We will win, we do 35% and I can no longer do the government without us». The Germans mobilized so well, 84% went to the vote and drowned the AFD percentage, leading it to 20%, leaving them in opposition. So this is a democratic solution by which you can overcome a tendency that, to say, does not suit you at some point”, Explained Dîncu, the former Minister of National Defense, according to News.ro.

The PSD MEP also stated that Romania has no functional institutions and that the cancellation of the presidential elections even during their development is “a stain” for “the image of Romania in the world”.

If I had strong and functional institutions in democracy, then I would not reach this situation. That is, I did not reach the situation to cancel the elections after I validated the first round. I canceled the elections during their development. Which also gives an extraordinary reason for the theory of conspiracy, for the theory of the plot and the feeling that no justice is done. It is a stain, after all, on the image of Romania in the world“, Added Vasile Dîncu.

On March 14, the CCR rejected the candidacy of Călin Georgescu for the presidential elections in May.

Vasile Dîncu claims that the PSD electorate is disciplined

Also, Vasile Dîncu argues that the PSD electorate will vote, for the most part, with Crin Antonescu, even if the current common candidate of the ruling coalition does not come from social-democrats.

First of all, it will be important to see to what extent Victor Ponta will be able to communicate with the PSD electorate. Victor Ponta can fall into the illusion that he is social-democrat, because he was president in a good time. One of our best governments, in which he was praised and right, and left. Many good things were done, the level of wages then increased, GDP level, was a very good time. But he’ll have to say what he wants to do in the future. If he will communicate with PSD members, he will probably be voted by some. Because, in the end, it’s about belonging, and people will feel this matter. The PSD electorate is at the same time a disciplined electorate. If Crin Antonescu will do this, and he will be able to take an important part. I, for Crin Antonescu, have no emotions from the PSD. PSD will vote, an important part. I have emotions for the PNL electorate, who did not vote on Nicolae Ciuca, the president of the party at that time. And there was no conflict at the party level, but less than half of the liberal electorate voted on Nicolae Ciuca. I think there are four candidates with chances: Simion, Nicuşor, Ponta and Crin. I don’t know what the order is, but they are. There are two party, two independents”, Explained Vasile Dîncu, on Prima TV.

The PSD MEP estimates that George Simion has high chances of entering the second round, only that he will lose, regardless of counter -candidate.
