Faber participates in Milan Design Week with Design Signals Snapshot, an exhibition that brings to the fore the way the design can transform industries, materials and production processes. The exhibition is part of the Design Signals of Faber program, curated by Martina Muzi, which explores the deep connections between design, industry and technology, having as a starting point the constantly evolving industrial landscape of Timisoara.

Started in 2023 as Bright CityScapes – part of the official program of the European Capital of Culture, together with the Polytechnic University of Timisoara, the program investigated the automotive industry in Timisoara and its connections with the global market. The program continued in 2024 with the textile industry, and in 2025 it explores the chemical industry. Through exhibitions, festivals, conferences, workshops and publications, the program demonstrates the transformer potential and how it can change the conventional methods of production and collaboration.

The design exhibition Signals Snapshot represents a selection of works resulting from the researches carried out on the automotive and textile industries in Timișoara and Romania within the Design Signals program and presented above in the exhibitions “secrets” and “signaling – the design is not a dashboard”. The exhibitions have investigated the impact of design on industrial processes, emerging technologies and economic structures, through contemporary design practices.

At Alcova 2025, the exhibition brings to the fore a selection of projects that addresses essential topics for the future of design: the interaction between man and technology in the automotive industry, the reuse of industrial waste, the restoration of traditional crafts and the exploration of unconventional materials and processes. Alcova is one of the most anticipated exhibitions in Milan Design Week, known for its unconventional spaces and visionary curator. This year’s edition takes place in four locations: Villa Borsani, Pasino greenhouses, former Snia factory and Villa Bagatti Valsecchi, where Faber will also exhibit.

Designers and researchers present at Design Signals Snapshot are Flora Lechner & Cristina-Sorina Stângaciu, Théophile Blandet, Jing He & Raul Ionel, Lavinia Ghimbășan / Studio Nalba, Alex Todirică, Marius Vasile, Kirsten Spruit and Ștefan Lucuț. Their projects reflect an interdisciplinary approach, located on the border between design, technology and applied research.
