A 20-year-old man was detained by the Capital’s police, after stealing goods worth approximately 10,000 lei from a school in Sector 3.
The policemen from the General Directorate of Police of the Municipality of Bucharest – Section 12 detained a 20-year-old man, who stole several goods from the premises of an educational unit in Sector 3 of the Capital.
According to the investigators, the act took place on the night of June 20 to 21, 2026, when the person in question would have entered the school with his face covered with a mask, in order not to be recognized.
Laptops, monitors, portable speakers, as well as several supplies and educational games intended for children were stolen from inside. The damage is estimated at approximately 10,000 lei.
“The administered probation office revealed that, on the night of June 20/21 this year, the young man would have entered the school premises, wearing a mask in order not to be recognized, in which context he would have stolen several goods, including laptops, monitors, portable speakers and several supplies and manual games for children, the damage caused being approximately 10,000 lei”, reported the Capital Police.
The notification was made on June 22, by calling 112, by the director of the educational unit.
Following the investigations, the police quickly identified a suspect, who was found and taken to the hearings on June 23. Some of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the school.
Based on the evidence administered, the young man was detained for 24 hours, to be presented to the magistrates with a proposal to take a preventive measure.
The investigations continue under the coordination of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the 3rd District Court, under the charge of qualified theft.
