“I held a firm and honest discussion today with colleagues from the Ministry of Finance. We are going through a period that imposes measures to reduce the expenditures of the budgetary apparatus, and this naturally creates anxiety, but at the same time feeding rumors and false alarm signals. The panic generated by rumors and erroneous information does not reflect reality and does not really help anyone ”, said Alexandru Nazare on Tuesday evening, quoted in a statement of the Ministry of Finance.
The minister stressed that “There is no question of postponing or blocking the payment of pensions and salaries, as it has been.”
Expenses of 370 million lei only for bonuses
According to official data, in 2024, the expenses with the bonuses and allowances in their own apparatus and the institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Finance were 370 million lei, of which 360.5 million lei only for the increase of harmful conditions. Other amounts were allocated for disability bonuses and allowances for the title of doctor.
The minister stressed that the measures adopted not only concern a category of budgets, nor have the purpose of penalizing the employees of the Ministry of Finance, ANAF or other institutions.
Rewarded performance and continuous dialogue
“We prioritize the performance in the budget apparatus and we have zero tolerance for the irresponsible spending of the public money. We go to a fair salary system, to ensure that the performance is properly remunerated” transmitted Nazare.
The minister gave assurances that the dialogue with the unions will continue to identify sustainable solutions to bring “Financial equity and predictability”.
Protests continue in several cities
